Legion History

The Sisters of Mercy legion has been created on 5 June 2014. Initially it was just a way to increase my storage space. After a couple of months, I asked some help to a new player, in order to invite my other alts into the legion, and with my surprise, she asked me to stay. So I decided to start recruiting (but only through the Aion’s official forum). The legion has been always oriented towards casual players, and I wanted to make it clear, so I never invited “on sight” everyone without a legion. However, time after time, some members became very strong and I pushed them a bit to find a better legion for their needs. I didn’t log in for some weeks, to let them go away without any sorrow, and then I didn’t recruit any new member for almost 1 year. Then I decided to start again, this time also using the LFG chat in Aion. And… I’m happy to have found some awesome persons ๐Ÿ™‚

How to use/navigate the website

The website will have few administrators, but only to avoid that someone who doesn’t know how it works the administrator panel could mess up something. Everyone can write new posts in any of the categories under “Forum” (the other pages, the database and the guides, will be filled a bit at a time by the administrator. But feel free to ask, if you want to help). The members’ registration has been disabled to avoid bots. Upon joining the legion (usually after being appointed legionary), me or another administrator will create a new account for you (you will be able to edit your profile and change the password later on). Feel free also to ask me to add some of your screenshots for the random banner above.

Titles

Legion titles are not like titles that can be acquired after a chained quest, permanent, and usable to brag over other legion mates. They are more like “political positions”: each title involves duties, and although it’s fine to show some interest for a “higher” position, it also happened that some legion mate rejected a promotion, since he realized that he wouldn’t have been active enough to fulfill his duties. In any case, a title will not be granted after just a request. To be clear, and give an idea about what each title means, here a small description:

  • Volunteer: this is the standard title when you join a legion. It means that you are basically a “solo” player, and as such, you have no particular rights within the legion.
  • Legionary: usually after just a couple of days (1 week maximum), you will be promoted “Legionary”. However, it’s not only a matter of time: being a legionary, means to be truly a member of the legion and as such, you should at least say “hi” when the other legion mates greet you. Becoming legionary, means to realize that you are no more a solo player, but part of a legion. Thus, some “sign of life” is required. As legionary, you will be able to deposit items into the Legion Warehouse (LWH).
  • Centurion: there’s not a particular time frame, before someone can be appointed centurion. People with this title, are members who are enough active and contributed somehow in the development of the legion. A centurion can invite new members, and should also help, when possible, other legion mates.
  • Deputy: this title is granted to the members who particularly distinguished for their support. They can withdraw items from the LWH and for this, they should be quite active (although 2-4 weeks of breaks are totally fine; real life before everything). They should judge if a request is reasonable (a volunteer asking for 30m kinah is not reasonable; an active player asking for a loan because (s)he saw a bargain at the broker that (s)he’s able to refund in a short time, it is), they are allowed to edit the legion bulletin board and invite new members. A deputy should also contribute in keeping the legion unite and when it’s possible, help other members, organize some event or attend some legion run.

Legion Account

Unfortunately, Aion doesn’t let the players experience how the different classes look like at the level cap (unlike other games, like RaiderZ). But the Sisters of Mercy do! Currently it’s possible to test all the classes at level 65 (the previous level cap), before choosing which one is worth your time. If you are at least a legionary, you can whisper a deputy or a centurion and ask for the credentials. Please stick to the following rules, before starting:

  • Don’t level up those alts: they are meant to stay lv65 to make possible a better comparison among all the classes; so please don’t complete the quest to become archdaeva.
  • Don’t trade the kinah you make with those alts, to your personal character(s). Both accounts belong to the whole legion, thus, the kinah gained should remain on these accounts or moved to the LWH.
  • Don’t spend the kinah you gain with these alts, for silliness or unnecessary improvements (like enchanting the gear).
  • These alts can be used for some legion runs, in case a key-role (like a templar or a cleric) is missing. But keep in mind that your personal character is more valuable than these ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Some legion mate spent a lot (or even few) of her/his time on these characters. Please remember this, before trying any selfish action: it is possible to reset the PIN without a confirmation via email (thus, restraining other legion mates from using the accounts). However it’s always possible for the accounts’ owner, to ask a reset of the password via email (and only the accounts’ owner knows the password of the email…).
  • Unfortunately, in case you use a dynamic IP, a verification code is needed, periodically. I’ll try to check both emails regularly, but please bear with me for the delay, because I’m not allowed to use my email at work :/
