Ohmygodwhyrunerk

Ohmygodwhyrunerk

Long, long time ago there lived a Shugo named Ohmygodwhyrunerk.

And she was kind of an outcast among her peers, because of her name. Still, nobody can judge the shugo tradition, as the first words the mother uttered after the child’s birth were supposed to be its name.

Her mother was well-read, so she could actually speak Atreian English, so she didn’t utter pure nonsense like other shugo mothers.

Ohmygodwhyrunerk grew tall and strong, even though she wasn’t well liked among the shugos… and neither by Daevas. She wanted to change the name, but the Shugo laws about names claimed that a given name was a holy thing.

She was so fed up by this though, that upon hearing that Pandarunerk established a city in Danaria, she rushed there to ask him for a name change. Pandarunerk was, after all, the most powerful shugo of his time. Not only did she build the city (with the hands of 9 million Kobold slaves), but also urbanised the whole Balaurea (with the hands of another 40 million Skurv slaves).

Ohmygodwhyrunerk decided that he was the one to ask. If he has a power to decide over so many lives, why wouldn’t he change her name? Just a signed document would be enough, she thought.

Thus, she left her native village of Stinkycorner in Altgard, and took off, leaving her family behind. She wandered lands and seas, and finally ended up in kamar, land of the red-winged Reians. What tough luck did the poor shugo have, siege between Asmodiands and elyos raged in the city after it was revealed that the Reian leader, Kahrun went missing.

She sneaked between the boots and brogans of the fighting daevas, trying to get to the next teleporter as soon as possible. Above her, fountains of blood emerged from the chests of fallen fighters. Terrified, she ran and ran, until she was crushed by a fallen Elyos, who bore the name of Eddie the Fat Barrell.

And thus Ohmygodwhyrunerk ended her life, the end.

(cryes and cryes from legion mates – me in primis…)

BUT

It didn’t end there.

She was dead, thought everyone after the battle ended. Reians regained control in the city, and settled the daevas’ weapons. Dust fell, the city was grey, and so was our heroine. A young Reian found her when he accidentally kicked her and she flew into the fountain across the square. The water there, blessed by Lady Siel herself, was said to give life to those who deserved it. (Let us skip the fact that Ohmygodwhyrunerk would’ve drowned in there, let us call it Aion’s guidance.)

She emerged from the fountain, gasping for air. She was alive! The young Reian ran towards her, and asked her if she was ok. She couldn’t answer, her whole body trembling, so the Reian took her in his arms and took her to the capital, where the wounded were treated.

Soon, she found out that there were many who were in much worse state than she was in. It pinched her heart a little. And a little more. Until she rose, and started helping the nearly dying soldiers. Everyone thanked her for her help and selflessness.

She grew so connected to everything that was in this city. The people she helped, and later the ones she simply spoke to without any reason. She, a little, bullied, alone shugo could make a difference. She could make people smile, no matter their race, age or occupation.

She kept her name secret until now, but when she finally realised what she was capable of, she felt nothing else but pride. “I am Ohmygodwhyrunerk, daughter of a shugo scholar, a medic, and I am pleased to meet you!”

Soon, she was added at the “Amazing Shugos and where to find them” book, written by a Green Hat Unit scribe, WhatthefuckamIdoingwithmylifeinerk.

As you can imagine, these two got married. And they lived happily ever after until Beritra came and sank Kamar.

The end.
